How is WhatsApp Cloud API Pricing working?
WhatsApp cloud API pricing is calculated based on Conversation-based pricing.
What is Conversation-based pricing?
If you are a business owner, you can initiate messaging with your customers, and they can also message you. Once the first message reaches the recipient, whether it’s the business owner or the customer, and the recipient responds, a 24-hour window is established, constituting one conversation. Within these 24 hours, unlimited messages can be exchanged between the business owner and the customer.
there are 4 types of conversation available,
- Marketing.
- Marketing conversations relate to your business, products, or services. These include offers and promos, related product suggestions, abandoned cart messages, or any conversation that doesn’t qualify as authentication or utility.
2. Utility
- Utility conversations are directly related to a transaction, including post-purchase notifications and recurring billing statements.
3. Authentication.
- Authentication conversations provide users one-time passcodes for authentication purposes. These can occur at any stage of the user journey — such as account registration, account recovery, or integrity challenges.
4. Service.
Service conversations are initiated by users; these are typically about resolving customer enquiries. Businesses can respond within the 24-hour customer service window.
here, if the first conversation starts from the Business owner that is called Business initiated.
and if the Customer starts the first message that is called user-initiated.
